RUMOR: UK Gamers to Pay Out the Nose for Rock Band
Rock Band is still not out in Europe and with no official release date in site, one begins to wonder if it will ever release over there at all. However, this does not mean that retailers cannot put a price tag on the highly anticipated game and try to entice gamers to pre-order the item.
Case in point, Scan Computers, an online store in the UK has Rock Band listed for £158.61. Unless Scan has some inside information on what Rock Band will actually cost consumers, you may want to hold off on pre-ordering the game until an official release date is finally confirmed.
Rock Band is listed for £134.99 and if you add in £9.03 for postage, and £25.20 for the value added tax you will end up paying £169.22. Over here in the States, that equals to $337.38. It is a rip-off especially since we only have to pay $169.99 plus tax for it at GameStop. I would highly suggest you go to a gaming store instead once an exact release date and pricing plan is revealed.
According to Amazon (UK), Rock Band is scheduled for release on May 9, but we will be sure to confirm or deny this for you as soon as we get word from the publishers
